Position Overview:
We seek a passionate and dedicated Piano instructor to join our faculty in the Piano Studio at St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy. We seek a candidate who wants to commit and make SPCAA a significant chapter of their professional trajectory. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of knowledge in piano pedagogy, professional experience teaching and/or providing access to performing arts, and be an experienced and knowledgeable pianist. Successful candidates will be committed to teaching and mentoring students of varying ages and skill levels. This position involves teaching private piano lessons to elementary through adult-age students and leading ensemble or group piano classes.

Responsibilities:
-Conduct private piano lessons for students from elementary to adult learners.
-Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to each student’s skill level, goals, and musical preferences.
-Deliver engaging and effective instruction focusing on technique, musicality, theory, and performance.
-Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging students to strive for excellence and personal growth.
-Lead ensemble or group classes fostering collaboration and musical interaction among students.
-Stay current with teaching methodologies, pedagogical techniques, and innovative approaches for keyboard instruction.
-Provide regular feedback and progress assessments to students and their parents/guardians.
-Collaborate with fellow instructors and contribute to the overall growth of the academy’s music program.
-Participate in faculty meetings and required NYS training.

Qualifications:
-A bachelor’s degree in Music performance or pedagogy is required, focusing on piano. Master’s degree preferred. A Master’s degree in Music Therapy is also attractive.
-Demonstrated proficiency in piano performance across a range of genres and styles.
-Previous teaching experience, particularly with students of varying ages and skill levels.
-Strong understanding of keyboard pedagogy and a commitment to employing effective teaching techniques.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Genuine interest in education and a dedication to nurturing students’ musical talents.
-Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in meeting teaching commitments.
-Ability to collaborate effectively within a team of instructors and staff.
