SPCAA Reach Expands with Help from the Brenda and Dave Rickey Foundation

Autumn Open House invites new students to tour Academy
Geneva, NY—St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy (SPCAA), Geneva’s home for performing arts instruction, announces new scholarship aid generously made possible by the Brenda and Dave Rickey Foundation.

In a meeting this month to discuss marketing strategies for the Academy, Brenda Rickey said “Providing support to the SPCAA scholarship fund allows members of the surrounding communities the opportunity to encounter the arts, many for the first time, without the hindrance of a financial barrier.”

The funds for these scholarships are for students who live outside of the Geneva City School District. Whether a family is completely new to SPCAA, or a current student who would like to take advantage of this “Neighbors of Geneva” scholarship, all are encouraged to take advantage. The goal of this fund is to help offset the cost of tuition, travel time and expenses.

Managing Director Kirsten Burrall adds “…our mission, “Arts for All,” is partially fulfilled by awarding as many scholarships as possible. We encourage all families to fill out a scholarship application to help offset tuition fees and make an education in the performing arts accessible.”

In an attempt to familiarize more families and community members with the Academy, an Autumn Open House will be held on Saturday, November 2, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Attendees can meet faculty members and learn about programming in Cello, Choirs, Dance, Guitar, Piano, Violin, Voice, and Ukulele. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

The St. Peter’s Community Arts Academy is a non-profit organization serving the greater Geneva area with enrichment programs, lessons, and instruction in music and dance for all ages and abilities since 2005. Through the dedication of its administrators, instructors, and support board, the Arts Academy fulfills its mission, Arts for All, and offers lessons and instruction to over 250 students weekly. Students can follow their artistic interests in the cello, community children’s choirs, dance, guitar, piano, violin, and voice, and our programs for the youngest learners like Little Mozarts and Strings Explorers (3 – 6 years).
