Summer 2026 Camps & Workshops
We are offering music camps for beginning students and those with experience, and a dance workshop for adults.
Creative Fun for All Ages
LESSONS AND CLASSES: We are happy to offer continued private lessons and weekly classes in most programs: Violin, Guitar, Cello, Piano, and Voice. Please check each program’s page for summer pricing of individual lessons/classes.
THE CAMP/WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE: We will also be offering several day camp experiences. These camps have low fees because we encourage students to participate and perhaps check out one of these ensemble programs for the first time. All camps include breaks or fun outdoor activities, along with a snack.
Summer Session will run for six weeks
Weekdays from July 6 - August 14, 2026. Registration will be available May 2026.
All of the following camp/workshop opportunities are only $150, unless otherwise noted.
A minimum of 6 students is needed for the camp/workshop to run.
Students may enroll in more than one camp, assuming the camp days and times do not conflict. Any new student to SPCAA will get one week of camp for FREE!
Mondays – early evenings – 5-6 p.m. Join our Director of Strings, Julie Gray, in an introduction to String Orchestral Playing. We’ll focus on foundational skills like proper posture, tuning our instruments, rhythmic exercises and basic music theory as we work together as an ensemble to make simple tunes come to life. This is an opportunity to improve on your instrument and grow as a musician, while having fun making music with your peers. This program is open to violinists, violists, and cellists of all levels, but some reading experience is required. A minimum of 8 students will be required to ensure a positive ensemble experience for everyone. Cost for 4 Mondays in July is $50
Monday-Friday from 9 am – noon. This fun camp is for students who have had at least three years of private piano lessons (or are assigned to Book Groups 3, 4, or 5). Students will be paired by age and ability. Students will experience duet-style lessons (4 hands), piano ensemble sessions in our keyboard lab, and will also explore music through special music theory and aural skills classes. The camp will end with a recital on Friday July 17 at 11:00 am.
Saturday from 9 am – 2 pm. Join our dance faculty, Laura D’Amico, as she uses approachable, gentle improvisation and creation tools gleaned from her Fulbright year working with artists from major European companies. The 5-hour workshop will focus on thawing the frozen areas of our bodies and awakening the creative spirit through group and partner games to dismantle the inhibitions that keep us from reaching our fullest potential. This workshop is for those who can remain physically active and attentive for 45 minutes at a time without a break, and will be tailored to the abilities of the collective. Cost is $40.
Monday-Friday from 9 am – noon. This fun camp is for students who have had at least one year of private piano lessons (or are assigned to Book Groups 1 or 2). Students will be paired by age and ability. Students will experience duet-style lessons (4 hands), piano ensemble sessions in our keyboard lab, and will also explore music through special music theory and aural skills classes. The camp will end with a recital on Friday, July 31, at 11:00 am.
Monday-Friday from 9 am – noon. Join faculty member Joe Godfrey for this unique camp designed for students entering grades 5-8. Preewquiste skills should include a least one year of experience in your school band ensemble program. Experience Jazz Ensemble playing in an accessible formate where all students perform jazz literature, improvise solos, and give a culminating concert at the end of the week. Students will learn several “head charts,” and improvise using pentatonic & blues scales. There will also be opportunities to listen to professional jazz literature, experience movement to enhance rhythmic development, and to explore the creative process. All traditional band instrument types are welcome (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion). Final concert performance on Friday, July 24, 11:30 am.
Enrollment in camps and workshops will be available in May. If you haven’t set up your Registration/Account with our school, you’ll need to do so first.
